Still, even if you’re yet to have a pet, if there’s a chance you will want one, it’s still important to consider a complex’s pet policy. Some complexes might require ESA certifications and uphold strict restrictions as to the types of pets that are allowed or the number of pets each resident can keep.

Before signing any lease agreement, it’s imperative that you carefully review the terms, including the small print. Consider the length of the lease, how much security deposit is required, and any other fees associated with the rental.
